Newcastle International Airport Solar Farm – Vital Energi 

Newcastle International Airport has appointed the approved contractor, Vital Energi, to undertake Phase 1 of the solar farm development. Phase 1 of the development will provide 3MW of power and construction will begin on the site in Summer 2022. The scheme is anticipated to be in operation early next year. BCE Northern Ltd is proud to be working with VItal Energi as sub-contractor in the initial phase of production. Work includes bulk earthworks to formation of a new 1km access road, imported fill materials, section 278 junction construction, Kerbing and drainage, reinforced concrete slabs and foundations to new substation bases, directional drilling and ductwork’s to cabling infrastructure. 

Colloide Engineering – Viking Energy Network Jarrow

Colloide Engineering Systems have appointed BCE Northern as their Civil Engineering Contractor for the Substructure Groundwork foundations, Superstructure floor slabs, Drainage and External Ductworks Works, Remediation and Foundations of the solar farm as part of the groundbreaking Viking Energy Network at Jarrow.

Dane Architectural Systems – Hamsterley Factory Extension  

Dane Group has been established for over 50 years and specialises in the design, fabrication and installation of both aluminium glazing systems and mild steel staircases and balustrading. The site in Hamsterley, Newcastle upon Tyne comprises manufacturing floor space of 60,000 sq. ft between aluminium and steel (mild and stainless) fabrication workshops.  

South Tyneside Council – One Trinity Green

One Trinity Green is a modern development offering professional, managed workspace for new and growing companies, built as part of the regneration of the Laygate and Rekendyke area of South Shields.

BCE Northern were engaged as Principal Contractor to alleviate existing parking problems experienced at this location and the surrounding residential streets.

QE Facilities NHS Trust

Over the last 15 years BCE has carried out various projects at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead. The Hospital Estates Department is responsible for the infrastructure of a very busy expansive site with a constant flow of patients, visitors, emergency and non-emergency vehicles to the hospital.

Newcastle International Airport – Redevelopment and Upgrade of Public Open Space, Walkways, Canopies & Parking Facilities

BCE Northern was employed as Principal Contractor by Newcastle International Airport to undertake works to modify the Short-Term Car Park 1, pedestrianised routes and architectural structured canopies.The works at the airport were part of a £4 million upgrade of the car parking facilities, expansion of the express parking area and the installation of new customer walkways.  

South Tyneside Civil Engineering, Excavation and Drainage Framework 2021 – 2023

In September 2017 BCE Northern Ltd was re-appointed by South Tyneside Council to their Framework for Civil Engineering and Highway Works for both categories of Earthworks and Drainage. Having previously executed the existing Framework between January 2014 and February 2017 the Council set up a Framework under which it can procure Civil Engineering work for a period of two years.

Durham County Council Framework for Civil Engineering Works 2014 – Present

In 2017, BCE Northern was reappointed as a framework partner on the Durham County Council Civil Engineering Framework for a further two years with the option to extend for an extra year following successful fulfilment of works and schemes on the existing framework over a number of years.
