From specified drainage works to drainage services as part of civil engineering and council projects, BCE Northern have been part of many operations throughout the North East including within the South Tyneside and Durham areas. We have often been chosen as the preferred selected contractor to work alongside a leading council in the region for carrying out earthworks and drainage.

South Tyneside Council – Lizard Lane Drainage Scheme

In February 2021, BCE Northern was appointed as Principal Contractor by South Tyneside Council for the drainage improvement works at Lizard Lane, Whitburn.
Lizard Lane is a busy link road connecting the Whitburn and Marsden areas of South Tyneside. Frequent heavy rain and clay soil led to the carriageway remaining flooded for long periods, even after the rain had stopped.

South Tyneside Council – Civil Engineering and Public Highways Framework

BCE Northern Ltd is Framework Partner with South Tyneside Council and has successfully delivered in excess of 200 individual civil engineering and public highway works schemes throughout the borough with expenditure in excess of £5 million.

Durham County Council Framework for Civil Engineering Works 2022 to 2024

In Jan 2022, BCE Northern was reappointed as a framework partner on the Durham County Council Civil Engineering Framework for a further two years with the option to extend for an extra year following successful fulfilment of works and schemes on the existing framework over a number of years. Our Contract was renewed following an extensive pre-qualification and tendering process geared toward Quality, Technical Experience and Competitiveness.
