Whitley Bay Northern Promenade Redevelopment Works 

North Tyneside Council has made significant investment to refurbish the seafront promenade in Whitley Bay. The promenade has undergone major upgrades from the area around Watts Slope, linking to the Spanish City Plaza, all the way along to the Rendezvous Café. 

BCE Northern Limited are proud to have been part of the additional phase of redevelopment work on the northern promenade, works which are now complete. .

St Marys Church, Whitley Bay – Landscape Works

St Mary’s Church is located in a predominantly residential area of Monkseaton, Whitley Bay. The church building underwent some improvement and redevelopment works and the vision was to create a safe, attractive and welcoming external area to benefit the congregation and wider community.  

The church grounds had a garden, a grassed area and a small, consecrated area for the burial of ashes, however some areas needed urgent repair, replacement and landscaping. .

Sunderland City Council – Town Park Improvements

BCE Northern was employed as Principal Contractor by Sunderland City Council to undertake the Public Realm Improvement works to Town Park in Sunderland. The improvements to the park was awarded a £1million National Lottery Heritage Fund and is part of the Bishopwearmouth Townscape Heritage Scheme to restore and renew the open space for the enjoyment of the local community.  

Judges Lodgings – Plawsworth

The scope of work was to reconstruct and resurface the driveway at the Judge’s Lodgings in Plawsworth, County Durham. The work consisted the removal of the existing gravel driveway, installation of new channel drainage work, new road construction, installation of resin bonded surfacing and landscaping work to existing verges. All work carried out was completed on time and within the Client’s budget.

Origin Retail Property Services – Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, Hartlepool

BCE Northern Ltd were appointed as Principal Contractor by Origin Retail Property Services following a rigorous selection/tender process undertaken by Middleton Grange Shopping Centre’s Managing Agents, Cushman & Wakefield, for approved selected Contractors. Car Park & Hard Landscaping – McAleer & Rushe

BCE Northern Ltd were engaged by Hotel Developer McAleer & Rushe Ltd to undertake the external footprint works to the new Jury’s Hotel situated on the prestigious Baltic Quay site in Gateshead. Having previously worked with McAleer & Rushe on the Jury’s Hotel Development in the City Centre of Newcastle, with the same team of Designers, Consultants and Architects
